I need to lose my HUGE thighs!?!

Question: I weigh about 120 lbs. and I pretty normal everywhere except for my thighs, and my butt. They are HUGE! Like whales! I try everything, but they never go away. I'm also starting to develop some fat on my stomach? I eat pretty healthily, and I do the elliptical for 40 mins like twice a week. What should I do so that I can lose the fat fast?

Running...how many competitive long distance runners have you seen with big thighs. You won't be able to do it fast but considering you have almost 3 months until summer that should be plenty of time. You can start off slow (i.e. 1-2 miles and gradually work your way up). Also, don't forget you need a balance of proper nutrition, resistance and cardio excercise, and sometimes good supplements (ripped fuel or any thermognenic fat burner).
For thighs:
- quads - do wall sits. Put your back against a wall and pretend you're sitting in a chair. Hold as long as you can.
- Butt/quads: do Lunges (no weights).
- hamstrings - get an ab ball. lay on the ground and put your feet up on the ball (extended). With your butt off the ground use your hampstring muscles to pull the ball into your butt. Extend out and repeat
Lower legs - do calf raises (on a step/shair), using just your body weight. Lots of reps (1 calf at a time and go back and forth).
- Eating and stomach (abs)
You can (and should) eat 5-6 semi-small nutritious meals. Don't load up with 'tons' of food.
You can try eating various things: fresh fruit, chicken, brown rice, broccoli, beef jerky, protein shake, applesauce (no sugar added), veggies, lean ground turkey, turkey sausages, Low sugar protein bars (or try Kashi bars). Oh, and substitute any junk food with Odwalla bars (the choco. chip ones are fabulous and have 8 grams of protein).
If you eat ~7 a.m. ~10 a.m. 1p.m. 4 p.m. 7p.m. (and 10 p.m. if you're up late you should be great. Get your excercise/workout in b/w any of those meals (or directly prior)
You don't need many weights or machines. You can get one of those ab balls online or at a Target/Wal-mart for like $10-$15. Do abs using the ball...always works your core. Also get some resistance bands and you can work your legs (outer thighs) as well. Go for a run or do some sprints to get in better shape. Pick up some sports/activities with your friends

Try a stepper or stepmill. For some that has actually slimmed the legs

YOGA!!!!! keep up with the cardio because that is the best fat burner but to get lean do yoga or even pilates

Try running up stairs and doing squats and lunges while keeping your butt squeezed tight. I have been doing 3-4 sets of 12-15 of each, plus stairs 15 min 3x a week and I have noticed a big difference since January.

haha youre like my twin i am exactly like you try doing 50 squats nonstop and keep them on a 4 count so go down 2 and up 2 to really isolate your muscles . then lay on your back and do a 90 degree angle with your knees and then go up and down with your back 50 times nonstop keep it on a 2 count. also remember to stretch!! =) good luck to you and me haha we're like exactly the same haha. =D!!oh and also try laying on your back with a small ball between your knees and push together that helps too!! =)

Many people above tend to recommend squats; there is a common misconception in this thought. You cannot target weight loss; you cannot just do squats and melt the fat from your thighs. To lose weight on your rear you must lose weight everywhere. The best way to do this is by jogging every-other day three times a week. Jogging and running are both cardiovascular activities; they get your heart rate up and will get the energy(fat) in you flowing.
An elliptical machine is not as stressing on the body, that is why you are not seeing the results you want. The only time I recommend an elliptical machine or stationary bicycle is when the patient is older. These machines are easier on the joints than jogging or running. I recomend you jog or run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the rest of the days off. Aim for 3-5 miles and take however long you need to and complete it. Try to push yourself and you will see results. The typical weight loss ideas come into play here; eat healthy, exercise, and take a multivitamin to get everything you're body should get.
Sorry to tell you the bad news, but genetics have determined that you will have big thighs and a nice booty. The only way to lose it is with a good lifestyle. Don't forget that men do like a nice rear & thighs; why try to lose that?
