Where do you go to find out how much of your body mass is fat?!
Question: I don't know what it is called exactly, but isn't there some sort of test that you can get done that tells you how much of you is fat and how much is muscle? Can I get this done at my doctor? Where do I go?

You go to your doctor and you can ask her to do it. She'll also weigh you and all that stuff. You usually should get it done during physicals. That's when i got mmine done.

they have little hand held machines that they sell at pharmacies or places like walmart.. or some expensive scales have testers on them... usually they have metal pieces that you hold on to and it emits a small wave through your body and determines it.. also has to know your weight i think
there are 3 tests that I know of. One you can do online by typing in your weight and height and it calculates it for you.
The other 2 you do at gyms.
1. is they have you grip this machine out infront of you while your standing on something (I think a scale) and it calculates it.
2. The best is a calibrator its this clamp looking thing and they put it on your arms and stomach etc..to see how much skin (fat) they pick up..I dont know exactly how it works but it is the best.
You can go to a gym and ask if they have a BMI calibrator or a way to test it. Also try Weight Watchers or Curves they probably have them there too
There are new scales that you can buy which give you fat % and also percentage of water. They are cheap, but my fitness guru friend tells me they are very innaccurate, which makes sense as the values vary significantly each time I use ours.
