How to shape up at home?!

Question: I'm 26, female, 5'5, and 150 lbs. I got to 170 lbs in 2006 because of a bad relationship and low self-esteem (hence, my former love of haagan daaz), and after I made the decision to leave the ex and move back to my home town (I moved to another state to be with him...), I lost 20 lbs in the course of 8 months just by giving up the ice cream and not eating fast food as often as I was before (I ate it every day when I lived in NY with the ex). Anyhoot, so I don't look "fat", but I'd really like to shape up and tone up. I would like to be around 130 lbs, but the weight isn't as important as how I look and feel. What are some good exercises I can do at home or without having to use a gym? I work from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and also work another job on Sundays (I work 6 days a week). Any advice would be great :-)

I suffer from a Chronic Illness and am unable to get out most of the time to get to a gym, so I have found many useful ways to stay in shape, and tone up my body.
*dumbbells - do quite a few sets of light weights to help tone the arms (doing a lot with lighter weights will tone instead of adding bulk)
*Squats - do squats with and without dumbbells, this will definitely help you legs
*Toe raises - for your calves, use stairs to rise to the tip of your toes and then back down (one foot at a time) about 20 per set
*Sit ups/crunches - will always help flatten or tighten a tummy, make sure you are doing them correctly!

You could buy some workout videos like pilates, or yoga... or if you want something a little more fun you could buy dance dvds. I just bought some belly dancing dvds, its a fun way to learn something new while toning up! Good luck!

Do crunches on a morning and night, it'll help you lose your weight and tone up at same time. If you can try run or jog daily.

buy some aerobic (for fat burn heart rate) & yoga dvd's (for muscle tone & enlongation) to follow at home- any are good, really as long as they keep you moving.its good to switch them up. you will see the best change by being mindful of your diet: eat lots of chicken, fish, & veggies, some fruit, lowfat dairy & only complex carbs (whole wheat) NO white breads, potatoes, white rice, flour tortillas, refined sugar, syrups, high sugar foods, soda. (yes, even diet) dont consume calories in your beverages other than milk & lowsodium veg juice. also drink a lot of water. also helps to drink green tea as the chemical EGCG promotes weight loss.
i know what you mean about gaining when you're in a bad situation... been there. congrats on making the right move!
good luck!

You can always use this straching excercise at home or any private location . Stretch ur arms outwards towards the sky .stand straight . Bend ur right arm and hold ir left elbow now bend ur waist downward right .Stay in tht position count till ten . Go back to normal posture . now hold right elbow with left hand and bend leftwards . and count till 10 .

I make it a point to do this a total of 25 times daily . It helps a lot to tone your lower portion where we generally put on weight .

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 12 pounds and 19 inches in 9 days. I continued and lost 29 pounds in a month. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc
