Tai Chi Chuan (also spelled Taijiquan but pronounced the same way) can be very good for losing weight, provided that it is practiced appropriately. A lot of instructors in the West teach a watered down, new age version of the art that is far removed from its traditional martial roots. I practice and teach Chen style Taijiquan and this style has multiple benefits that boost every aspect of health: aerobic, cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular, nervous, digestive, skeletal, intellectual, etc. The entire curriculum does not only teach the slow forms, but includes fast forms, weapons training (this is fun!), partner drills, self defense, meditation.... in other words it can develop overall mind, body, and spirit well-being. And yes you will lose weight. Traditional Taijiquan training develops muscle mass and muscle burns fat even if you aren't exercising. So you could be sitting down in front of the TV and still be burning fat. But mind you, you need to maintain the training to do this!

that's not the point of either study. its a state of being.

maybe yoga, because you like stretch.

also, try pilates it's like yoga + ballet + something else.

there's this thing called *the hundred* and basically you lie down, then put up your feet at an angle then your head and shoulders curl up. Then you pump your arms up and down and breath for 5 counts. you have to count up to 100.

it SUUUUCKS but i suppose it's good for your tummy.

To be honest I would not recommend either. Try a class with abit more activity. Kickboxing, Dancing ect.
