I own a health and nutrition business and have taught fitness. The key for you should always be balance. Starving yourself on a 1000 calorie per day diet is probably one of the most inefficient ways to lose weight. The reasons for that are this: First of all, when you starve yourself on a diet like that, you cause your metabolism to actually slow down, which which will result in your body wanting to hang onto every calorie and want to gain the weight back faster than it did before. Additionally, the human brain needs glucose to function properly. Robbed of the proper amount of glucose (because of dieting) your brain loses it's ability to function properly, which affects clear thinking (so you get "foggy thinking" and lose ability to concentrate on work and/or school), ability to make good judgments, and also can cause chemical and hormonal imbalances which then plunge you into a cycle of additional impaired thinking, impaired judgment, and more poor decisions that can further plunge you into more chemical and hormonal imbalances.
A better way is to follow a regimen of slow, steady and well balanced weight loss that will cause your body to adjust to that weight loss properly and thus be able to keep the weight off longer. A diet high in lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and fiber (lots of whole grains, fruits and veggies) and very low in fat, complemented by a consistent exercise program where you get your heart rate to within 80% of maximum for at least 30 minutes at least 3 times per week will give you a healthy, balanced weight loss. Additionally, the timing of your meals can be crucial. A large breakfast, a medium lunch and a very light dinner will give your body (and your brain) sufficient fuel for burning as you go through your day, instead of packing all the calories on at supper and then sleeping with them (instead of burning them) through the night. This should be a lifestyle change and a change in the way you mentally approach your image of eating rather than a "diet" where you starve yourself and then pack in food once you get to your goal.
Drinking lots of water will also help you. The guideline is half your body weight in ounces of water each day. What that means is that if you weigh, for instance, 180, that would be 90 ounces - or four and 1/2 20 ounce bottles of water - each day. This will help to wash out the toxins and fat as well as help to allay appetite. Consistent 7 - 8 hours of sleep per night will also help, as research shows that less than that or more than that will actually aggravate weight gain.

That is a very unsafe way to eat. You are stressing your body out and if you continue, it can bring on stress to your heart.

You should e eating about 1800-2000 calories a day in a balanced diet. Make sure you drink 64ounces of water a day too.

I'm trying to lose weight too and it's sooo hard. My aunt is using a weight loss product and it's really working for her (100% natural). I'm gonna try it and I recommend you try it too. It's really a colon cleanse, and it's a healthy way to detox, not like most diet pills. Check their website at
http://health-fit.info , my aunt got a free trial and paid only $4.95 shipping and handling.
