I just started to work out last week?!

Question: So far i only do 10-15min on the ellipitcal and 40 min on the tredmill both fast and slow walking. Whats the fastes way to lose all over inches and tone. My target is to lose 10-15lbs max. Is it better to walk fast or run on the tredmill?

I love this question!

First of all, if you want to lose weight, you must have more "out" than "in." People hear this, and they think "diet." WRONG! Dieting actually lowers your basal metabolic rate (BMR), meaning your body doesn't burn calories well when you exercise, so don't diet while you undertake a vigorous exercise routine.

You actually want to raise your BMR. Best way to do this...weight lift. Don't worry, you won't become a "buff girl." But your muscles will respond by building and burning.

Finally, when you work out, don't let your body adjust. Work out hard for 30 minutes one day, then easy for an hour the next. Run one day, yoga the next, then do the stair master. You want your body constantly responding to a new challenge.

By the way, the normal body can only metabolize 2 lbs of fat a week. You can stretch this by building muscle, but don't expect more than that. Any extra weight lost is water and muscle, and you don't want to lose those!

Do whichever one gets your heart rate up. I used to walk but I realized I was never breaking a sweat, so now I do aerobics for 45 minutes and get my heart rate up

better to run, the elliptical burns a lot of calories too (easier than the treadmill if you ask me.)

I would do a level 3 or 4 on the elliptical for 30 -40 minutes. You will burn more calories on there then u will on the treadmill. Go on the weightloss program or the hill climb.
