What if I am eating 2 healthy meals a day and 1 not so healthy, but not that unh!

Question: Isn't ok to eat 2 healthy meals a day and then one like a sandwich from school or something like that ? I don't think of eating fries, burgers and stuff like that, but just whatever you want at the moment - using portion control? (:

hey, i dont think you should eat what you want when you want as the above answerer suggested, because then you will end up yo yo dieting for the rest of your life. But you seem to have the right idea, portion control. eating relatively healthily is fine, and having a little of what you want every now and again is fine too. If you see that you are gaining weight then you know maybe you are having too much of what you want/or too regularly.

Just do what I do, Excercise and eat what you want when you want. lol Whatever happens happens... It isn't normal to go through life worried about weight gaining. I know, Ive been there. Just make sure you get your excercise and if your hungry then eat. Always remember if you gain a few pounds in the future that can be burned right off from a simple week of dieting and excercise. Don't torture yourself.. It is okay. I know because I eat what I want. And honestly its good to eat what you want when you want. Your body hoards energy when you eat less. The more you eat the faster your metabolism. And any food will speed up your metabolism so if you gain a little weight in the future your metabolism will be much faster then before allowing you to burn what you gained efficiently. Ive been doing this for a few years now and it hasn't failed yet. The bottom line is do both. Excercise and eat what you want when you want. Anything you gain can be burned right off later. Do what I do and monitor your weight. If you gain a few pounds then eat less for a few days without excluding your excercise. good luck

Like they say- Everything in moderation and this means food too. As long as you are getting in mostly nutritious foods during the day it doesn't hurt to treat yourself. You can walk off those extra calories. The main thing that is important is drinking plenty of water thru out the day. Cutting out the sodas and even diet sodas. They are so bad for you. The are the worse thing you can put in your body besides cigarettes and alcohol.

portion control always works...but hey,1 burger a month isnt gonna kill you..love life for the way it is dear..god bless u

Ye Its Fine As-long As You Don't Eat To Much Sugary,Fatty Foods ,It Could Cause Spots Or Wight

Eating 2 Healthy Meals A Day Is Great! And I Spose The 1 Meal That Isn't So Healthy Is OK.
You Can Enjoy Fatty Foods In Moderation!
As Long As You Stick To The 1 A Day!

Portion Control Is OK But You Can Eat As Much As You Want As Long As It Is Healthy
And Maybe Focus On The Unhealthy Meals , Having Them As A Smaller Portion!
I Worry About My Health Too !
HopeFully This Can Help . .

If you are doing what you say, then you would be 10,000 steps ahead of most American's. :)
I eat very healthy (vegetarian diet) I'm 25 and I've been this way since 16. And a few times a week I have what you call a "unhealthy" meal. But not burgers & fries, like you said. Something like pudding, or a piece of chocolate, white bread-grilled cheese sandwich! All definitely not what you would call 'healthy' food by any means, yet I am still very healthy.
So you will be totally fine. Just consider your food choices always. Don't over do it. You may find that you don't have to have that 'unhealthy' thing from school or whatever every single day, but maybe just a few times a week.
Don't obsess though :) Just like you have portion control with your food, have that same thing with every area of your life.
Food is a part of our life, we use it at parties, holidays, birthdays, even after a funeral! You are supposed to enjoy it.
So don't feel that you have to eat 100% healthy 100% of the time. That is just not realistic. Food was meant to enjoy and if you want to enjoy life, don't obsess :)

There are different levels of "unhealthy." Find out how many calories these bad meals have and see if your good meals have left you enough room to have them. Keeping track of your calories will help you figure out how you want to distribute them throughout the day.
