You sound like my twin! (except I haven't had any of the surgery) I also weigh 250lbs, am 25 and 5'7. I started a new job in August last year. While there I made several new friends (all of which were cute, little, pretty girls). Anyways, One of the three girls is like a fitness fanatic! She goes to the gym just about everyday and eats all organic bla bla bla. She convinced me and another co worker to join her gym. I thought, "you know I need to do this I'm the biggest I have ever been." I haven't had a boyfriend in over 7 years.... it's time for a change.

So I went with them. The fitness guru got on an elliptical and me and my other friend did as well. I couldn't last but 3 minutes!!!! I had to keep stopping it hurt soo bad. I would pause/stop on the machine and they would yell at me "why are you stopping?!?"

The next day I went on a different elliptical machine in a different room than them. Because of my weight and how out of shape I was, I couldn't go "fast" like all of the exercise barbies throughout the gym. But being over weight gives you a slight advantage. Your used to carrying more weight than any of those other girls. Especially your legs. So what I did was got on an elliptical upped the resistance to just about it's max and went SLOW! That forces you to put your whole body weight into it. It built up my muscles in my legs so that eventually I was able to last 1/2 hour just like the other girls at a normal speed and resistance. After a month or so working like that... I found myself not being tired after the 30min workout and went for another round. And I started going to the gym by myself.

I started out at 275lbs and I'm now at 251lbs. That's just since November WITH the slow start :) You have to start slow. You have to. Your not used to that kind of movement and you have to go at your own pace. Plus weightlifting is great. It's my absolute favorite form of exercise.

I thank god that I met these girls at work who encouraged me to start going to the gym with them. Now in the 70 min I'm on an elliptical there are skinny tiny little things coming in only lasting 15 min at a time! And I still probably weigh over 100lbs more than them!

I hope this helps. I might just be blabbing.... please contact me if you have any questions or need motivation. You just have to get moving!!
Good Luck!!!

Try finding a gym in your area that is more centered toward weightloss instead of catering to the already fit and trim crowd. It's much easier to workout with people who are in a similar situation to you. If you can't find a gym like this, you can always work out in your home or start walking or riding a bike outside.

Do not worry about going to the gym. You will be surprised how many people will be excited to have you there and will assist you with losing your weight.

In regards to how much weight you can lose by September would really depend on you. The more you work out and better you eat, the more weight you are going to lose. To start off, try to work out three to four times per week. After awhile bump up your routine to four to five times per week. Just remember to fully work out for at least 30 minutes each time. It is going to be VERY difficult the first few months, but work through it and you will begin to look fantastic!

ok first of all dont dis yourself. whenever you eat try a light exercise and it will burn the calories instead of muscle, stick with all the classic excersise like situps never crutches they are less effective, tempt your self, then you will be motivated, also use a visual motivation, like a pic of ur fav star

GOOD LUCK

Walk at least an hour, non-stop, per day

The body is designed to walk. Research shows that slow, rhythmic movement exercise, such as walking, resets your body
