You would loose weight but only toan extent. You need to eat a certain amount of calories but also burn a certain amount. I think you should be eating abour 1000 and burning about 200.

This sounds like a ridiculous idea.
Consult your doctor and he can advise you on a good wieght loss program, where you will likely be able to eat a lot more than that.
If you eat that, after a while you will do yourself some harm.

it's too little, especially if you're active.

If you work out (especially weightlifting), you need to replenish your body with plenty of protein. If you don't supply yourself with enough from an outside source, your body will consume your muscle (protein) to repair muscles damaged during your workouts.

Either way it is a poor idea for a diet and likely to fail 2 in 3 so called dieters using ridiculously unsuitable diets such as you describe end up gaining more weight! ( University of California Study 2006.)

Your body switches to starvation mode to try and conserve calories also not only fat but protein ( muscle,) is broken down at ultra low calorie intakes.

Better to reduce your calories modestly and combine this with regular vigorous exercise.

you will lose weight and rapidly! but you will feel like sh1t, be hungry constantly and as soon as you start eating normally again it will pile back on! sensible eating and exercise is the only way to do it im afraid! no such thing as a quick fix, when you realise that you will begin to change!

700 calories is not enough, and diet alone is not enough.

A man needs around 2000 calories a day, and a woman around 1500. Even so, it is less a matter of counting calories, and more important to eat a diverse selection of healthy foods. 3 tins of fish and 3 apples can hardly fit that description.

You need to eat frequent, small meals, and not feel hungry.

This should be backed up by frequent, vigorous cardiovascular exercise. Dieting alone does not do much to burn the fat you already have. Go and jog, swim, ride a bike, go for a brisk walk etc. Get out of breath and raise your heart rate for at least 30 minutes a time.

I don't know what 18 stone equals to in pounds, but 700 calories a day is BAD. You CAN'T cut out food groups. You shoudl be getting at least 1000 a day. Keep in mind that if you want to lose weight quickly, once you hit your target, you'll shoot right back up once you're off your diet. If you want to lose weight you want it to be permanent, and it's going to take some effort. It's good that you're eating something decently healthy but you're going to eventually put yourself in a hospital bed from anorexia, because that is what it is. If you starve yourself, your metabolism will actually slow down by trying to conserve what little you're putting in your body.

Here's a suggestion for a meal plan if you want to lose weight and remain healthy:

Breakfast- have a bowl/serving of cereal (as much with fiber in it) with 1-2% milk;
or a serving of oatmeal (adding cinnamon adds flavor);
or have a piece of whole wheat toast and 2 eggs.

Lunch- salad (without dressing, unless it's vinegar) with as many vegetables as you'd like
with water
or a turkey sandwhich on whole wheat bread with lettuce, tomatoe, and a slice of cheese;
or a serving of low sodium, low fat soup;
or a tuna sandwhich (minimum mayo)

Snack- banana, apple, and/or yogurt

Dinner- a small piece of grilled chicken, lots of steamed veggies.

And try to do 30 minutes of cardio workout a day, and/or muscle work. However, cardio will have more an effect because that's how you'll burn the calories and lose weight.

Way way too low! You need protein aswell otherwise your body will use your muscle as energy.

Add in a extra meal a day like Pure chicken breasts and you will be fine.

Increase drinking water intake and a vitamin tablet.

Every 4 days treat yourself to a little bit of carbs like pasta or bread.
