Does coffee make us lazy?!

Question: I find that in the winter I start drinking more regular coffee and have less energy and I don't regain that energy until I give up the coffee in the spring for water or tea.
Does coffee effect our bodies energy level? (aside from the usual caffine effect).

I know what you are talking about. I think our bodies adapt to coffee very quickly and soon our bodies EXPECT coffee to give us the energy. I gave up caffeine and ironically have more evergy too!!!

It must just be you. I've never heard of coffee making anyone lazy.

Too much coffee could impact your energy levels and sense of well being. However, one cup in the morning usually has no effect.

It sounds like you are suffering the winter "blahs". During the shorter days of winter, our bodies receive less sunlight and as a result are less active. When the weather warms up, you get more sunlight and feel better. The level of caffeine in tea can be as high as coffee. It is doubtful caffeine has a great effect on you. Not everyone reacts to caffeine in the same way.

A little bit of coffee is a stimulant, but it gets to the point if you have too much where it has the opposite effect, tiredness.

Also, winter weather tends to slow metabolism in general, which reduces energy levels. Less natural light in winter times affects energy levels as well. If you could manage a little more physical activity, that would help.

Interesting. I don't know anyone that has had coffee make them lazy. It keeps me awake. It is supose to do that, but maybe it is just you or you aren't use to coffee.
