burning fat!

You can tone your muscles as much as you want but if you have fat ontop of it, all you do is make it bigger as the muscle underneath grows and the fat still is laid ontop.

What you need to do is burn fat and calories: reduce what calories you eat by 25%
then when you excercise: on the tredmill/jogging outside, cycling, climing...whatever and however you choose to, wear a hear moniter, your aiming to excercise 50 to 60% of your maximum heart tare. Your maximun heart rate is 220 minus your age.

If you go too high, what will happen is when you stop your heart rate and so metabolism will fall quicky meaning if you eat your probably going to store more of the food, although a higher heart rate will burn the fat its not so good in the long run. A slower heart rate (though not too slow) will raise your metabolism and burn calories, but when you stop, it will not suddenly drop, it will gradually fall and when you eat your less liely to store food as fat.

Excercise atleast 20 mins a day at a heart rate suitable, (this time does not include warming up and cooling down) but better is to do an hour at a time and atleast 3 days a week, more is better but do rest one day a week so your body can recover.

Dont do more then you feel able to: too much at once will have the same effect as doing a too high heart rate workout: it will burn calories, but wont help you loose weight in the long run.

Also, get some advice on your situps- its all ok to describe it on the net but its better to have someone sit with you and correct you where your going wrong, just remeber these tips:
dont crane your neck, if your neck gets tierd, stop, your stomach isnt working anymore, your neck is.
Suck in your stomach as flat as you can while doing any abs stuff, otherwise you'll end up with domed abs- not a good look!
When doing sit ups, make sure you lift your head, neck and shoulder blades full off the floor, if they touch the floor, your not working hard enough.
Learn several different abs excercises, just sit ups can be really dull and may put you off doing anything at all

Ask a gym/fitness instructor if you need more info.

cardio, cardio, cardio

Only a healthy diet and exercise will work. Eat fruits and vegetables and low-fat low-carb foods, and also do a lot of cardio like running, jogging, and walking! Good luck! And sit ups will not turn the fat into muscle, they will make your muscles UNDERNEATH the fat. So you can do sit ups and still be skinny. It will just give you muscles too.

You can lose the pot-belly without the stomach exercise like sit-ups, but your stomach won't be toned in anyway, and if your pot-belly is sizable, then it'll need some tightening up after you lose the fat.

Swimming is the best exercise you can do, if exercises the whole body and gives the stomach muscles and legs an excellent work-out. I'd stick with the sit-ups, too though if I were you.

Stop drinking.

Eat healthy and I think crunches are better.

Doing sit up's will build muscle but you wont get too see those muscles unless you burn the fat surrounding them. Do some cardio, even just 15 minutes a day to begin with and build yourself up and you will see the results.
