How long should you wait after working out to eat and vice verse?!


Question: I went out for a run today (4 miles) and when I got home I had a meal of chicken and veges. It took me about 30 minutes to get home to eat though. I thought I had hear somewere that you should wait at least an hour or two after working out to eat but is that true? Also, I think I hear that you should wait an hour after eating to workout and I wanted to confirm that.

Actually it's best to eat as soon as possible after your workout because your metablism is still at it's highest so your body is in it's fat burning mode. About eating before working out, you should wait until you food is digested to avoid cramps if you've eaten a heavy meal. It's actually good to eat a little snack like an apple before your workout because it gives you energy.
