You could do it, but it will probably be tough.

YES. You need to excersise. about 5 days a week is good so that your body also has days to rejuvinate. For weight loss, aerobics is best (running, eliptical, etc.) To speed up your metabolism, you also should do strength training by lifting weights, push ups, etc.

For a diet: Calculate your Daily Caloric Needs at www.bmi-calculator.net. To lose one pound, you must burn 3,500 calories. So to lose a pound a week, you must have 500 less calories/day through excersise (burning it off), or cutting back on calories. Eat white meats, have a healthy, balanced diet (fruits, veggies, grains, protiens, dairy). Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day.

It's healthy to lose 2-3 lbs per week. So you could healthily lose 60 lbs. Although some people do level off at a certain weight.... : )

To get motivated: you just need to be unhappy enough with your weight now to tell yourself you need to: to feel better or to be healthier, whatever. If YOU don't want it, you'll give up and lose will power really fast.

u should try to order the weight watchers book from ebay. i did and am trying the core foods plan. it's a lot cheaper than joining or you can join weight watchers if u need support.

3600 calories equal a lb
you will have to workout 5 x a week,
you will have to eat protein plus complex carb mini meals (150-200 calories each) 5-6 times a day 2-3 hours apart to boost your metabollism. eat greens whenever hungry.
it is recommended you take in no extar sodium sugar or fat.
you should do cardio and resistance training 3 x a week. cardio 5x a week.
drink loads of water at least 120 ounces per day.
Best of luck.

You can do it!

You have a goal.

If you don't change what you eat then you have to eat less. Try drinking much more water. Walk alot. Don't turn on the TV. Find active things to do. Going to a gym that doesn't have body builders is a help. Join weight watchers. Keep moving.

Check out the link below. It is hard to just up and lose weight. It isn't that the weight won't go, you are in the habit of eating to support it.

Most of all get with your doctor. They can help you and make sure you are health through out the process.

here is what my dietician recommends - follow a practical diet. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50% veg, 25% carb, 25% protein. eat 900 gms of veggies a day. Start your meal with a big salad or soup. have a snack every three hours. fruit (ideally berries) or soy nuts. just 2 tablespoons of soya nuts subside hunger pangs lose one kilo a week. that is the ideal.
Pick an exercise regime you like. buy a pedometer, and take 10,000 steps a day. can you afford to buy a good quality trampoline? 5 min on a tramp + 30 min on a treadmill. and it is a whole lot healthier.
there are two ways to avoid cravings:

one is to make sure you are eating all the food groups.
the other Glutamine powder. 1 tsp in one glass water am/pm. This is great to improve nutrient absorption and can help overcome cravings
