Im scared to go out for a jog?!


Question: i want to lose so much weight and look good but im so scared people might call me fat or something.....should i go early in the morning...wear sunglasseS?

If you're so afraid of people calling you fat, why don't you purchase an mp3 player and take it along with you for the jog? that way it eliminates any name calling! or if you want why not wear track pants or a track jacket? those can help conceal your body. but whatever you prefer, do it.
I don't actually think people will call you fat! , in fact, every time i see an 'overweight' person jogging, i actually feel proud, because they are making effort to become healthy!

I wouldn't worry about what people think, you're trying to make yourself healthier and look better. Just go jogging whenever it's best for you. I'm sure nobody will think anything of it.

Face your fear and do not hesitate.

How about you buy yourself a treadmill? Or, go to Jenny Craig. No offense whatsoever, but you'll find people the same as you.

just be careful late at night or in the morning because that can just be un safe some times. buy a tread mill for your home or get your self confidence up and realize that your the one actually excerizing while the people driving by or sitting at their houses are being lazy!

You need to focus on the task in hand and try to expel any thoughts of what people are thinking. It's probably all in your own mind anyway. Most people are too busy getting on with their own life to bother about what others are doing and why. The others that are bothered have little to do with their life. Maybe you could drive to a quiet spot before you start jogging and therefore avoid meeting people who know you. You are less likely to be bothered if the people you encounter are people you do not know. Good luck anyway -- try and see the bigger picture and focus your energy on that rather than the negative effect of low confidence.

Don't be scared, think to yourself what good you are doing, the results you see will keep you motivated and you will feel better for it. You don't say how much you weigh, but whenever you start a new exercise regime, take it easy to start with, make sure you stretch before and afterwards to avoid any injury. If you are really that concerned about what other people think, go in the evening when it is dark, but make sure you stay on a safe route that is lit by street lights. If you'd rather not go in the evening, then put on a baseball cap and plug in your favourite music and off you go.

My advice to you is - don't give a toss what other people think. They are probably thinking "maybe I should be doing that". Most people critisise people who don't exercise. I see plenty of "bigger" people at my gym, and they are treated the same as anyone else, at the end of the day, they are trying to become healthier and change their body shape so I say - good for them! Don't care what others think - go out and enjoy yourself - you'll be the one who has the last laugh!!!x

I think you should just go for it.
Go early in the morning if this helps your confidence, put some ear phones on with some music you like listning to and jog away.
Start of slow and then hopefully you will find that 'people' don't matter any more.
Try it for a month if you still find it hard then maybe you should buy a tredmill.
Don't let anything get you down......... YOU can achieve anything you want... Just GO FOR IT!

Who cares what any1 thinks of you, if it was me or any other kind normal person out there i would see you running and think "Good on him"....

I am a fitness instuctor in a gym in Australia and there are many over weight people in my gym any many lean people in my gym and none of them judge each other if anything they encourage each other because there all there to change thmselves for the better in one way or another....
