What can I change in my weightloss plan that will keep me motivated?!

Question: So, here's what I have been doing:

1. No soda, no snack foods (ie: chips, cookies, chocolate, baad stuff)
2. Exercising between 30-90 minutes daily by doing pilates, Tae Bo, or jog/walking
3. Slimfast diet - replace two meals with a slimfast drink and for the third meal have a sensible dinner (ie: smaller portions of whatever my mother happens to cook)
4. have 1 fruit or veggie mid morning and mid afternoon

I got sick with the flu and then went on vacation and kinda "slacked off" and am now finding it impossible to get back on track. It's like, I had one of each of the things I had cut out completely and now can't make myself stop. I lost 15lbs doing what I was doing over the course of 6 weeks. Someone, help me get back on track!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know what you're looking for but here are some tip's I have picked up over the years:

- Exercise 6 to 7 days a week.

- And try to break your workout into two different sessions, this gives your metabolism a jolt.

- Drink 10 to 12 cups of water a day. And try to drink ice cold water, it burns more calories.

- Take enough vitamins, especially ones that promote weight loss (such as 1800 mg. of Fish Oil, Vitamin B Complex, Co-enzyme Q-10, ect. Do your research).

- Drink green tea or take green tea pills ( it's been shown to speed up your metabolism).

- For your metabolism's sake, eat within 1 hour of waking up and don't eat 3 hours before you go to bed.

- Try a vegan or vegetarian diet (it worked for me :D).

- Eat every 2 to 4 hours to keep your metabolism going.

- Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day.

- Try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When your body is deprived of sleep your appiteite increases by 15%.

- Avoid sugar and artificial sweetener like the devil. If you have a sweet tooth, grab some fruit.

- Avoid all junk food, fast food, and fried food.

- Eat whole grain foods and healthy fats (like olives, avacados, nuts, ect).

- Remember to read the labels. They hide so much junk in "healthy diet" foods now a days. My rule of thumb is, if I can't pronounce it, I won't put it in my body. Because you are what you eat.

And just remember that you can do this. It's not impossible. You've don't it once, you can do it again. Good luck with losing weight. Hope I've helped.

It sounds like you need motivation, like you say, and that's not so easy, I know. Do you actually like the Slimfast stuff? Does it taste good? I don't think I'd really like it. What about just doing Slimfast for breakfast and having a salad for lunch instead? You could make your own low fat salad dressing with no fat cottage cheese, lemon or lime juice, and some herbs like dill, basil, or rosemary.

Congratulations on losing 15 lbs! That's at least how much I am hoping to lose, and I am joining Weight Watchers tonight. Good luck getting back on track!
