What is the difference between soy and whey protein and which one is better if d!

Question: There is a brand of protein shake I want to try but it comes in both whey and soy proteins. When I compared the nutrition information the only difference was one had a little higher carb count and the other had a little higher sugar count. I can't remember which one had which. Other than that everything else was the same.

the carb count has nothing to do with the protein in general. You can buy whey protein with 0 carbs and some with 5 carbs etc. It just comes down to how it is manufactured. And yes, sugar is a carb. so the more sugar in the formula, the more carbs.

In terms of whey vs. soy. Whey has the highest amino acid content out of all the proteins (whey, soy, casein, egg, milk etc.). that is why it is the most popular right now in the fitness industry. Are you an athlete, casual fitness person or just wanting to lose weight??? If you are just a reg person just trying to lose weight, the differences between the two shouldn't influence your decision. Go with the less $$$ product. Whey is better that Soy, but the average person will not notice a difference.
I'm a personal trainer and nutritionist and whether you are looking to gain muscle or lose fat, protein is key in achieving both. So to answer your question, yes, you need protein to lose weight. Do not cut the protein!

Sugar is carb.
The difference is orgin. Whey protein is from whey (a byproduct, orgin - cow milk) and soy is plant based. I would use whey if everything is the same.

Both are equally good and sugar is also a carbohydrate. I think whey protein is milk protein CASIEN which is easily digested only by infants and others take more time to digest. So better opt soya.

Soy protein is better if you don't want to bulk up.
