Hey guys ... how r u .... do u think that this meal plan will work for me ... th!


Question: 6.30 am ------------- oatmeal with skim milk
Medium banana
10 almonds
low fat yogurt with fruit

10.45 am ------------- apple

12.30 pm ------------- tortilla wrap with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese and an egg
piece of fruit

3.45 pm ------------- crackers with low fat cream cheese

6.45 pm ------------- big salad with wateva my mum cooks
piece of fruit

um .... well i cant change the times because thats how my times go because of school and that but any improvements in my diet plan would be really nice of u .... um im 17 5'8 and around 154 ... um oh and im also a vegetarian

yea i like my meals to be pretty quick so that i dont have to cook anything cuse my day is really busy and hectic ... i want to lose 20 pounds

the oatmeal with skim milk, banana, and almonds sound good, but i'd get rid of the yougurt. you already have dairy and fruit in your meal, don't over do it.

i'd go with some wasa crisp bread or something with fiber in it for the 10:45 snack instead of the apple.

lunch sounds good and well balanced so i would make too many changes there, but remember that 1 egg is only equal to 1 ounce of meat so you might want to up your serving to 2 eggs with your wrap.

3:45 snack should be something less fattening, try some celery with cream cheese instead, tasty, and filling, and half of the fat of the crackers.

6:45 dinner, ok, one thing that these other people are tellng you is to go small on the salad which is misinformation. a well balanced low fat meal is one that consist of 25% protien, 25% starch, and 50% veggies. you can get away with eating up to 2 cups of veggies at meal time if you are that hungry, just remember not to load your salad down with dressing and croutons and the works. or saturate your veggies in butter or salt. its not the amount you eat, it is the quality of the food that you consume. but make sure that if you are exercising, that you are getting enough water and carbs. you will rob your body of precious muscle if you don't balance your diet accordingly. hang in there kiddo. you really don't have that far to go. 154 at 5'8 is NOT fat by any means. you are very tall and 134 is going to be very thin on you. i wouldn't worry so much about what you are eating. all i mean is, dont starve yourself. be healthy.

even if you want to lose 20 pounds, you can't eat like that cos it is very unhealthy

With whatever your mom cooks doesn't sound too good, so because of that I would eat a regular sized salad if I were you. Big eating is what got you here, so big anything in your diet is a no no, remember you're trying to lose 20 lbs. so don't work against yourself. I would cut out the low fat yogurt in the morning, you're already eating fruit at 10:45, 12:30, and at dinner. But eating this, even for a year won't make you lose 20 lbs. You better have a good workout plan to burn the fat as well.

To me, that sounds pretty good, but I would suggest eating something a bit smaller at 10:45, if anything. Your breakfast at 6:30 may be early, but it should be pretty filling.

Also, you should change your menu around, these particular items can get boring and tiring if you eat this way everyday. There are also some things that are also needed in our daily diets, that is meat or some other source of the nutrients you get from meat.

I myself am a vegetarian, but because I don't get the protein and things I need from meat, I get them elsewhere. You may want to try soy milk and beans for more protein. You can also look things up online that substitute for meat.

In my opinion, what ever your mom cooks may not always be the right way to go, but if you want to eat what she cooks, then just eat smaller portions and make your salad smaller as well.

But if it is possible, make a smaller salad ( as I said above ), have a some chicken or something, and maybe a small bowl of green beans or some other vegi.
And as Sky Walker said, you do need exercise. You can walk, dance, run, or even do what I call the floor exercises (crunches, push-ups, sit ups, etc.) At least 30 minutes a day.

It looks pretty good but I would replace one fruit serving with protein, like chicken or fish. Oh wait you're a vegetarian. Hmmm.. Well, then eggs I guess. Try to eat some vegetables too. The thing is, your plan is pretty high in carbs. Bananas, fruit, yogurt, crackers, all those things are high in carbs. I always try to limit my carbs as well as calories when I diet. I don't know, it may work for you though. I say give it a try and if you aren't losing weight let me know and I'll give you a great diet for losing weight. It works fast but it's hard to follow.
