I Want to Be Fit, but don't want muscle weight... Help?!

Question: For the last few months, I have had a regime where I go on my stationary bike for 30 mins-40 mins rapid cycling, then an hour + of speed walking then another 40 mins of targetted exercises. I have been doing that daily.

But the thing is, I want my weight to be lower as well as to be lean enough to still fit the clothes I do now. The muscle appears to be preventing me from losing anymore weight.

Is there any way I can still stay the same size but do less exercises of the muscle building type? (I am assuming it is the cycling building my thigh muscles)

I am female.

I will not try to argue with you over whether or not your thighs are getting bigger, you know how your clothes are fitting and I do not. What I can tell you is that if your thighs are getting bigger it is NOT from riding the stationary bike. Cycling is an aerobic activity and does not promote muscle growth. Have you ever heard of Lance Armstrong? He won 7 Tour de France races in a row and probably rode a bike for close to 6 hours a day for most of his career. If your theory was true he would've had some of the biggest thighs in the world which couldn't have been further from the truth.
In order to build muscle you need to train with heavy weights and eat lots of calories and more specifically protein. Take a look at the type of "targeted exercises" you are doing and how many calories you are taking in. Continue to ride the bike because it will help you to burn body fat and ultimately lose inches throughout your entire body. Good luck.

If you want to lose weight by exercising, there's only so much you can do, since muscle weighs more than fat. Having muscles is good. Boys like a healthy athletic girl more than a super skinny bony one.
You could try working out different body parts to burn off some more fat if you think oyur thighs are getting bigger than you would like. Do sit ups and other abdominal stretches. You could try lifting weights. If you keep to small weights and do high reps, the muscles will by compact and firm, so you won't have huge muscles or look fat.
And remember, if you work out and have muscles and weigh more than your friends, no one will know if you are thin from losing fat and having compact muscles.

drink a lot of cold water and just eat healthily, running doesnt really make u get big muscles but a lot of it can.
