Can you lose 10 lbs in a month?!

Question: I am 21 yrs old, 5 foot 7 and 120 lbs. What would be the best way for me to lose 10 lbs in a month. Most of my extra weight is on my thighs/butt, and on my hips.

considering what you weigh now, it would be difficult. you could definitely work hard and tone up, but most likely you will not lose weight.

more exercise

Gosh sounds like you are already at your ideal weight. but yes it is possible to lose 10 pounds in a month. It is suggest that you don't lose more than 2 lbs a week.

do some squats or get on all 4s and put a weight in the back of you knee..then lift that leg up and down then do the other..itll tighten up your butt and im pretty sure youll lose a few inches..eat fruits and veggies and the weight should be gone in no time..good luck

Just eat 3 healthy, balanced meals a day and do some exercise, eg, walking, jogging etc or sit ups.. i think the recommended amount of exercise is 30 minutes a day 5 days or something, but not sure so you could research it.. good luck :)

yes you can eat the rite stuff and do loads of running or go to gym 3 time a week or just do one of the clebs diets

Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options for you.

It is absolutely possible. You have to eat a clean and healthy diet (5-6 small meals a day), exercise daily both cardio (3 times a week) and resistance (3 times a week) on the7th day rest or stretch, sleep 7-8 hours a day and drink plenty of water.

Hope this helps

That's about 2 1/2 lbs a week right? it a lot, you could end up with loose skin if you do that. However...

If it's just temporary, like for a wedding, a low carb diet will shift about 5lbs in the first week, mostly water not fat, so you'll fit into the dress or whatever it is you women do. Hit the low carb diet pages on the net, but remember to eat enough green veg and drink enough water. You'll gain the water weight back when you eat normally, but it will fit you into your outfit temporarily.

Quit drinking soda, tea or any other sugary drink and drink only water. I lost 10 lbs in a month doing that.

To lose 10 lbs in a month is an intelligent expectation. Most people want to drop 10 lbs. in a week (or even a day).

Generally, lower your caloric intake and increase your activity.

If I want to drop 10 lbs I simply get up every morning at 5am and go to bet at 11 pm and halve every thing I eat and emphasize a liquid diet (various juices, health shakes, and fruits); and I do this from Monday thru Friday and sleep and eat regular on the week ends, and repeat again the following Monday. I burn off 10 lbs usually in less than a month.

Also, walk every where you go, always take the stairs, and do more housework or household chores (I always shovel the snow).

ur look like way too thin !!

if you are 21 years old, five foot seven and weigh 120 pounds you are UNDERWEIGHT (even if you are small-framed, and you haven't said, so i will assume medium). i would not advise you to lose any weight!

there are many charts to tell you what your ideal weight is, and they never agree exactly, but they do agree within a range. i am including a link to weight watchers since they seem to have such a high success rate. according to them, if you are small-framed, you're only a TAD underweight. otherwise, you need to put some meat on those bones!

however, if you feel your weight is not evently distributed then you should do exercises specifically aimed at your thighs/butt and hips. diet restrictions will not help. your weight may go up or (god forbid) down, but your proportions will remain the same unless you do some work to redistribute.

i am including some links to sites that specify exercises (you may have to scroll down for some) but you might consider a consultation at the gym as well.

if you were to lose ten pounds you would put your health at risk (and you'd still be heavier on the thighs and butt and hips than elsewhere and remain unhappy about it).

for those of you who really DO need to lose 10 pounds, or at least would not be harmed by the loss of 10 pounds, i do know a solution, but i'm not posting it here! (and why do you need to do it in a month? if you actually needed to lose the weight that would only be slightly fast and might not harm you, but i am curious what the big deadline is.)

p.s. i have tried a couple of the calculators and i find two interesting things: 1. most do not ask age, which IS an important factor, and 2. the ideal weight seems to have slipped a few pounds since i last checked (but you still shouldn't get any thinner). ah, fashion!

impossible to get such result in a month.
lower your target to 2kg/month
avoid fatty foods
do a long morning walk or jogging etc for half hour daily

thighs/butt, hips, abdomen, shoulders are the places of fat deposition
