I'm a size 6, 5'6 and 136lbs..why do I feel fat?!


Question: Who remembers a time when size 6 was considered slim/small? Julia Roberts was a size six in Pretty Woman..the Wakefield twins had size six figures too (Sweet Valley High). Is size 6 really the new 14? :P lol

Cause the whole world is crazy! You honestly sound to me to be an an 'ideal' weight for your height, but maybe for you its about the way your body is composed. Like your body fat percentage. If thats the case and even if its not, move your butt at least three times a week. Even if your goal isn't weight loss it does wonders for your self esteem, and to me thats what sounds like the issue here. Not your weight.

A size 6 is commendable. Besides the waif look is out and curves are in and hotter than ever. so i doubt you look fat its in your mind

Go to your nearest mcdonalds.
pick out the fattest person in the room.
get your photo taken next to them
Whenever you feel fat, look at that photo

Chill :), try a protein diet. Eggs or bacon maybe gelatin in the mornings (as much sugar-free coffee as you want) kill sweet cravings with 70 calorie jello pudding snacks, have atkins diet shakes and bars<<<these are probably the only GREAT tasting bars and shakes out there that will help you lose weight, and the shakes fill you up. Your not fat but obviously not skinny just a little below the middle. Take this advice for about 3 weeks and dont forget to exercise! Walking and sprinting are the best exercises

Sounds like the perfect size. I'm 5'3 106lbs and a size 0-3. Being that you have some height to you being a size 6...you're like me but taller. I'd say you look nowhere near fat!

You don't sound heavy!!! I would cheerfully date a size 6, In fact most men I know consider size 2 - 6 to be absolutely perfect! Myself included.....

The average women in America is a size 14. You are spending way to much time reading fashion magazines if you think a size 6 is big. I'm a size 8 and I've never considered myself to be fat. Also, have you ever shopped at expensive, higher end clothing stores? If not, you should go in and at least try something on because you will notice that the sizes are bigger. For example, I wear a size 8 at Kohl's, Old Navy, Macy's, etc, but I wear a size 6 or smaller at J. Crew and Banana Republic. The more expensive the store, the "smaller" the size gets for anybody. Therefore, the next time you read about the size of a celebrity or model, remember to add a size or two to account for the fact that they are most likely shopping at higher end stores than you.
