What's the difference between a crunch and a situp?!
Question: A sit-up involves movement of the torso from the floor up to the vertical position whereas a crunch can be described as "half" a sit-up and involves moving the torso only up to 45 degrees or until the shoulder blades have cleared the floor.
It is generally acknowledged (even by the SAS!) that crunches are more effective than sit-ups and pose less risk of strain.

Situp you situp all the way to 90 degrees. Crunch is where just your shoulders lift off the ground and your stomach muscles are crunched only not pulling you all the way up
a sit up you go fully to your knees a crunch is ahlf way and you hold for one sec.
