Whether or not you get stretch marks depends on genetics, not fitness.

...Logical. It's the opposite of gaining weight, which causes stretch marks.

ME!

If it really worked we would all be doing it.

your skin condition has alot to do with genetics, also, if you are a lot smaller in the waist area, and then get pregnant, the skin is going to stretch much more than it did if you already had some extra there. to me, it would seem as though you are more prone to stretch marks if your skin stretches more

That is absolutely false. The only thing you can do is try to prevent them. You can do this by applying a moisturizing cream daily to area's that are prone to stretch marks, such as the anterior part of your underarm, and any other place you see them appearing.

Because the stretch marks are actually in the middle layer of the skin, the moisturizing cream won't completely prevent the stretch marks. There really is no way of completely preventing them, or completely removing them without surgery.

There are, however, ways to try to get rid of stretch marks. Some plastic surgeons will propose the use of lasers to fade stretch marks. This works by burning off the top layers of scarred skin, with very little pain and no bleeding. While this form of laser treatment of stretch marks is far from an industry standard, the technique is definitely gaining in popularity

Sure as long as you don't get pregnant unless you have good genes!
