Why do my muscles hurt after excercising last night?!


Question: i was lifting weights and when i woke up my right shoulder is hurting.

Why?

when ever you exercise and muscle in you body more than normal you muscles will make an acid (not sure what the acid is called) But, that's what makes them sore. The only way to get rid of the acid is to move the muscle and exercise more. It's very interesting how the body works :)

sore muscles are a good sign... it means that you worked out enough... when the soreness starts to fade is when you need to work harder because your muscles have gotten used to it.

lol... but of course! you stressed your muscles. they will definitely hurt.

you have over do it right?

no pain, no gain! if u take pill or get a massage now, the workout will be a waste! so grin and bear it.

Either you have just started and it takes time or you are lifting too much too soon. If you are a beginner start small and work your way up. 3 or 4 times a week with a rest between each workout. Not every day. Your might have pulled or torn your muscle. Get some local advice from your gym.

We have what is called lactic acids they are produced by the body to warm us of over straining ourselves. The aches are caused from the left over acids that haven't left the muscle tissue yet.

its a good sign..i agree with laura`s answer above..its lactic acid..just continue working out but do it carefully and slowly..make sure you take enough dairy foods the next few days to nourish your muscles well..good luck..
