Should I really gain weight and what is the normal range for monthly weight gain!

Question: I'm 17 years old, male, 5'10, 134 pounds, and the doctor as well as my mom and dad are suggesting that I should gain more weight. I am wondering what is the normal, healthy range for monthly weight gain if I am to follow a healthy diet?

try to get to at least 150.

I'm 6'1 and was 155 pounds, now I'm 170. Though I had Crohn's and swam at least 6 some miles every day so that's why I was skinny.

Don't just eat lots of food, but healthy food as well. Pick up running and lifting to help you put on weight. And if your desperate for weight try protein shakes with a gym (but thats probably not you)

But yeah, increase calories and just do some regular lifting and that'll help
