First of all I am a former gymnast of 15 years. The trick of a back bend is back and stomach muscles. First stand with your legs shoulder width apart. Arms up, slowly arch back. As you are arching back you need to focus on your hips going forward. If you feel like you are going to fall when you do this then you should probably work on your stomach and back muscles some more. Doing it from sitting is totally different from standing. If your stomach hurts when you try this then your stomach is not flexible and strong enough to do this from a standing position. The best way to get to the point where it doesn't hurt is by repitition. A way to make the stomach stop hurting is what we call in gymnastics "rol it out" After you do the backbend, sit on the ground, bring your knees into a tuck and rap your arms around your legs. Now, roll back and forth on the ground a few times (tail bone to neck) and it will reverse the stretched out feeling.

use your back. dont hit your head. get a spotter.

Keep your legs very strong to hold yourself up. It takes a lot of leg and stomach muscles. Keep practicing!

u will need a spoter to help u incase u fall or lose balance.

I am not quite sure i know wat u mean by a back bend . .but if ur talkin about like goin into a backward crab (or bridge) then take your time coz if your back is not the most flexible ov things then it could damage it. warm up really well and use a wall to hlp u- lean back from the base of your back and run your hands down a wall which hlps a lot

hpe this is wat u mean! :S
