Why do I weigh more than I look?!


Question: I'm 5'2" & weigh 282. But many people say I don't look THAT big. I see people who look like they're 350 lbs. & say they're 265. But with me, it's the opposite. Many people tell me I look 210 lbs., & they get shocked when they find out I'm close to 300. I want to lose a lt of weight. It feels like I'll NEVER get to lose.

Also, is it true that you MUST have carbs in your diet? Some people say that when losing weight, you should cut out the carbs in order to lose fast, but others say that you NEED carbs. I'm confused.

People distribute weight differently. Some carry the weight around their middle, creating a pot gut. But they could have skinny legs, chest, arms and legs. Then there are those who are overweight but the extra pounds are evenly distributed throughout their body so they don't look as heavy as their numbered weight. Then there is also the density of bone to consider. Some people have denser bones that adds to the scale but it's not fat, of course, so they don't look their weight.
Also, muslce plays a part, as it weighs more than fat. If you have dense bones and are muscular, that's part of the number but not the fat. As far as carbs are concerned, believe me, you need them. But they just need to be the right kind. Healthy carbs provide the brain with necessary, vital nutrients to keep it working normally. Some examples of healthy carbs are: brown rice, whole grain breads and cereals, whole grain rice cakes, and fiber foods. You could probably pull up a complete list by entering "healthy carbs" in a search engine. I've worked with clients who's diets weren't healthy and they weren't consuming healthy carbs and they just can't think! The brain needs them! And they provide healthy fiber in the diet to keep you regular. Hope this helps!

Are you wearing sloppy clothes and covering up the wobbly bits?

maybe you have very dense muscles and bones..just keep all food portions moderately small and have a glass of green tea and eat an apple or any other fruit 45 mins before meals..brisk walk an hour a day..you will see results soon..good luck

Your weight might be in your muscles & not your stomache.
If you want to loose the weight than you have to try to.
Its like a chore, If you never do it, its never going to get done.
If you never try to loose weight, it wont get done.
noone can loose your weight for you, you have to do it !

Watch what your eating & exercise.
