43pounds overweight... is it possible for me to loose 5 pounds a week? How?!

Question: The title says it all

Answers: The title says it all

I think setting a week target for yourself will only stress you out easily..the major key to lossing weight is patience you can check an article i wrote concerning excerising patience when trying to loss weight at http://yourhealthdoctor.blogspot.com/200... can also try to read the article below to loss weight fast..

A lot of us are trying to lose weight, and we want to do it fast! However, a lot of us do not have the time to go to the gym or walk for an hour every day. Here are a few tips that will help you lose weight:

1. Count your calories! Make sure you always count how many calories you eat. It's a good idea to have knowledge on how many calories different food items contain. Make sure you read the label on the product you are about to eat.

2. Burn those extra calories at the end of the week! If by the end of the week you realize that you have eaten more calories than you should have, then take the time to burn those calories.

3. Stay away from fried foods! Fried foods are about the worst thing you can eat if you are trying to lose weight. Fried food contains a lot of fat, so stay away from it, it will only add weight.

4. Don't ever skip a meal! When you're trying to lose weight, the worst thing you can do is skip a meal! You should be eating six times a day, that way, you will increase your metabolism, thus, lose weight.

5. Eat fresh vegetables! Fresh vegetables contain a lot more nutrients and vitamins than boiled vegetables. Always try to eat your vegetables fresh, because when you cook them, you take away nearly half of all the vitamins and nutrients. Canned vegetables are also processed, thus, they contain less vitamins and nutrients. When you buy your fresh vegetables, always make sure they are pesticide free.

6. Make chocolates a luxury item! It's important that you keep chocolate only as a luxury item, and don't eat them solely on routine. Chocolate is not very healthy, because of all the sugar and fat they contain, so don't over indulge in them.

7. Say no to alcohol! If you can stay away from alcohol, do it! As we all know beer will give you that special "beer belly", and I don't think you want that. Also, when you get drunk it's much harder to control what you eat.

Make sure you live by these tips, that way, you will stay healthier and lose weight, without making it a long process, that takes up most of your day.

Good luck!

only if you work really hard and believe in yourself

Probably not.

Not if you want to do it healthy and keep it off. The healthy max is 2 or 3.

try to lower it to 3-4lbs a week. 5lbs a week is bordering veyr close on unhealthy and going over it can make u sick and is veyr bad for your body. i answered a veyr similar questions here. that includes info on what is best to eat, what to avoid and the excercise i do daily. i lose 3- 4lbs a week doing this so it must be right.

go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m.
I know a woman who lost 60 pounds a month on it. She did nothing else!

5 Ibs a week is good for the first week. Usually you will lose all of your water weight. This could be anywhere between 5-10 Ibs. Then you will have a harder time losing the remaining weight for a while. Extra exercise and dieting can really help. good luck.

Yeah do NOT try to lose more then 2 to 3 pounds per week. It will leave you with loose skin, plus very unhealthy. There is a chance if you have not worked out before you might lose more weight at first before you become to a stable weight loss.

At 43# overweight, you shouldn't be loosing 5 a week. That would be unhealthy. Don't expect more than 2 a week. If you are doing more than that, you are loosing muscle and/or water weight and are being counterproductive.

If you are 100# overweight, then MAYBE you can talk about loosing 5 pounds in a week. Remember, those people on biggest looser are on perfect diets and full day exercise plans, and grossly overweight. Most of them are more than 150 pounds overweight.

it will be very unhealthy to do so
try to loose 1-2 pounds/week max

Yes...If you avoid dairy products and bread...Drink only water...Eat in small amounts...and work out every day

It's not healthy.

And the faster you lose, the easier it is to gain it all back.

I've very slowly lost one pound a week. It didn't give me instant results. But after five months, I've lost 22 pounds and I'm in the best shape of my life.

Health is a journey, not a destination.

Shoot for 2 1/2 lbs per week. The first week of good exercise and diet will generally make you lose 5-10 lbs and then the normal rate is 2 1/2 lbs per week. Eat more often with healthier smaller portions to keep your metabolism up. Combine this with regular exercise and you'll lose the 43 lbs before you know it (probably 4-5 months). I recommend joining a gym and getting a trainer. If that's not possible, just be sure to start your exercises easy and slowly add to it each week. The same goes for food. Change one or two things about your diet each week and you'll be much more likely to stick to your program. Go for it. You'll feel great.

Hi, it's probably not realistic to think you can lose 5 pounds a week consistently, BUT, you probably can lose 5+ pounds a week for the first week or two and that will motivate you to keep going.

You'll want to make sure that you do this smartly so that it doesn't come right back on with another 10-20 of its friends! Forty -three pounds is very doable! I would suggest that you try the 5-4-3-2-1 Diet on www.easy-weightloss-tips.com (under the diets tab) for the first two weeks. You MUST make healthy choices to get the best results. Choose lean protein, complex carbs, veggies, fruit, and low-fat dairy products. Eliminate sugar, flour, and alcohol for the first two weeks. Drink plenty of water. Exercise 20-60 minutes a day. You'll be happy with your first two weeks results! Good luck!

In the start with careful focus on a clean low fat diet along with a good exercise program you may see about 5 pounds or more come off. After 2 or 3 weeks like that you will level off to be burning fat and building lean muscle. You will still notice the changes but Healthy Weight loss coming from Fat is usually about 2 - maybe 3 pounds per week.

The Good news is ding it this way you will see inches lost and toning happen. This is far better than fast progress on the scale since you do not wear a scale around your neck for everyone to see :)

Your exercise program will give you maximum results when you alternate days of cardio and resistance training. The resistance training is key so you can build the lean muscle that will help you bur more fat even at rest.

Good for you for getting healthy!

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of toxins. Toxins come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The toxins get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the toxins by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://thebestcleansingdiet.com
