I have lost around 20 lbs. so far but my stomach will not go away. What can I do!

Question: THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

I started out at like 198.2 and I am somewhere in between 178 and 179, it just depends on any given day. For instance, this morning I woke up and my stomach felt full, looked bigger and it was firmer. Other days, I wake up and my stomach is flatter and it's jiggly. What causes that? Does it mean I am eating too much food the night before?

Also, why won't my stomach go down? It's went down a little bit (I can tell by the way my clothes fit) and I think I have lost inches in my waistline, but it pooches out everytime I drink something or eat. Why? I do an hour of cardio per day (elliptical and treadmill, sometimes the bike) and I do one to two exercise classes per weeks (strengthening and toning classes, as well as aerobics).

you need to give it more time...i agree with one of the other answers, you need to vary your routine at the gym and do more intense cardio (you may need to get your heart rate up a little higher) and do some weights. if you're drinking soda, you should substitute it with water or something with much less sugar, because that can sabotage your mid section. congrats on 20lbs of weight loss!

do crunches.. they target your abdomen area and so your stomach will have to flatten.. it has no choice..

Well, the stomach is the last place to shed fat. The fact that you don't see your abs yet means that you still have too much body fat. You might want to try weightlifting. I'd also suggest playing with your cardio as you may have hit a plateau (try shorter sessions but more intense; try cardio on an empty stomach). As for the diet? Can't tell you unless you tell us what you eat.

1. You can not really control where you start losing weight. This is genetics/hormone levels. For women, it is tights typically, but it varies. For men - usually stomach. Try loosing more weight, and it will go away.
2. For belly, check if you do abs trainings correctly. You need to expell all the air from diaphraghm before doing crunch/situp/etc.
3. The sudden differences might be caused by amount of water as well, not necessary fat changes, which are slower to be noticed.
