Gaining weight and Building muscles?!

Question: I am 17 going on 18, weight 70 kilos, 6'3 tall and I want to gain weight to build muscles, I am skinny as a rake. I road down the street past a car and the guys at the car said "Jesus hes got skinny arms" and yes I do, Ive never really done weights, but I've been active all my life, as a baby I was born 9pounds 10 ounces, but as soon as I got my legs I was up and running and riding 2 wheeled bikes at the age of 2. When I was 4 I started basketball which I have now been playing for neally 14yrs. When I was younger my mum used to be surprised at how much I could eat, I just wouldn't stop eating, but never gained weight. For a period of my life I was a heavy Coca-Cola drinker. I sometimes drank 2 litres a day, and I have quit because it ruined my stomach a little bit, but I still played sport.

So now I want to gain weight, and build fairly big muscles for my 18th bday 30th may. I believe if I do heavy weights less reps I'll get big muscles and I can just try eat alot of food?

You are going to need plenty of carbohydrates, and protien. Also, you will need plenty of cardiovascular exercise. Myself, I ate anything I wanted, but tried moderation. Do not start off trying to lift too much weight. The first week, I suggest for bicep curls, doing 3 sets-8 reps, each arm, with no more than 15-20 pounds, every other day. The second week, move up to 3 sets of 10-12 reps, each arm. If you find you can do this easily enough, the next week, add an extra set of reps. I found that an extra set would give my arms that little extra push. When this gets easy with the extra set, go back to 3 sets-8reps, with an increase of 5-10 pounds in weight, and repeat as before. Remember to stretch before, and after each set, but don't overstretch to the point of hyperextension. This is something that will take time, desire, and effort to see any major results. But, if you do what I have suggested, you will notice your arms improving. Don't forget the stretching, and be sure to give muscles 24 hours to recouperate between next day of training.
Good luck.

You need to eat about seven meals a day. And hit the gym. Because the only way your going to build muscles is by eating and lifting.

try protein shakes and protein snack bars

Your on the right track, however every 4-6 weeks weeks your body will adapt to your routine, so you need to train with many techniques, weights loads, styles, and reps...Use high reps, low weights, use high weights, low reps, do circuit routines, google plyometrics (but be careful)(advanced techniques that many pro athletes use) also, make sure your eating the right things, just cause you eat a lot..doesnt mean that your eating to provide your body with proper protein/complex carb intake to build lean muscle mass!! Your on the right track, but make sure you use all different methods to keep your body guessing and recieve optimal gains by more scientifically effective with how the human body works.....Good Luck HIT IT HARD..
