Working out arms without building muscle?!


Question: I have lost a lot of weight recently but my arms are still fat! I have a 10 minute solution pilates dvd and she does arm exercises with weights for 10 minutes. If i do 10 minutes a day with 3 pound weights will the arm fat go away or will it just build muscle on top of fat? thanks :)

To build muscle you need more weight and less reps so 3 lbs. for 10 minutes would be a toning exercise, not a muscle building one.

Congratulations on your weight loss!

Just use very little weight, like those 3's or 5's and do a lot of reps. Don't do a lot of weight or that will build muscle. Do little weight- in huge quantities- in 3 sets.

Do like 5 different types of arm works with short breaks and it will definately tone down your arms. It doesn't have to be 10 min, maybe go longer depending on how long your exercises take.
