Hae whats belly dancing i need help?!


Question: hae i heard that belly dancing is a great way to work out?
so what is it?
how do you do it?
what do you need for it???
how do you tone and shape your body while doing it?
any suggestions would be good!

I have done a couple of belly dancing classes a while ago and it is meant to be a very good exercise for women, as you are moving a lot of those womenly/reproductive areas and only some exercises do that.

It is also fun because it is to music, and after you do it for a while, you might get a jangly belt to wear that will rattle when you "shimmy" to make it look good. The teacher that I had, I think was self taught after doing a lot of ballet, but she used to show us these videos that she had. I think a major one she used was called "bellydance", possibly a bit dated, but if you can get something like the bellydance video off the net, it could also help, as well as attending classes, if they are available.

I think belly dancing is great because you see women of all different shapes doing it and they become really confident of their womenly parts. It is still a workout though, some older women in the class used to need to stop for water breaks during the class.

When you get more advanced you can do more things that use your stomach, such as arching slightly backwards while you move your shoulders in that special way. It can be a bit of an art as you are usually meant to move different parts at different times, not just moving everything all at once.

If you do it for long enough, you could become an entertainer and do performances in restaurants, shows etc, wearing exotic costumes. Some people put their own style into it, we had some belly dancers in our town who would do dances to bands like the "tea party" instead of the usual middle eastern music. They even danced with lanterns/flames and it was very entertaining.

Of course it would take a lot of learning before you would get to that stage.

But start it soon and you will enjoy it.

belly dancing is a dance using more of the midsection in doing the dance, it's a good workout if you do it right, it's better to sign up for a belly dancing class to fully understand it...good luck
