Whats a good exercise to build your calf mucles???!


Question: hey ah i have muscles all over my body and my biggest are my tighs. big tighs and chiken legs were my calfs should be hows that, i run a mile everynight and am walking all day, i play alot of sports including soccer,rugby and hurling. how can i make my calfs build up, go raibh mile maith agat slan.....

Yea, calves are the most stubborn muscle there is I think. You really have to focus on them and do a lot of sets of calf raises I think. I don't really know from experiance because mine havn't really gotten much larger either. You could try running hills or stairs but I think intense calf raises/extentions are the way to go. I don't know why calves take so much more than other muscles!

When you do calve raises make sure you keep your body completely still except for extending your feet and do a full range of motion with your calves and then when you can't do a full range of motion, keep doing them until you can hardly move. Some calf machines work better than others, just make sure you can dip your heel down below the platform you have your feet on. You can actually do calf raises a few ways. Try two feet at a time, 1 foot at a time, and negatives with 1 foot at a time using your other foot to help get to the top of the motion.

i run sprints, 5 times, but two minutes long.... incline 10 speed 5-6---treadmile
