Well, at 5'8" and 121 you are still underweight. There is nothing wrong with indulging every now and then, but all the time is not good. Maybe try giving yourself one day a week to eat what you want and not feel guilty. If you constantly keep yoursel from something you want you will eventually binge. Instead, whenever you have a craving, allow yourself a little bit. Just enough to to calm the craving and then stop. This helps controlling binging.

EDIT: ok, one person says to never eat carbs. That is VERY unhealthy. You need to ask your doctor for advice. There are lots of diets out there and MOST of them are temporary fixes that cannot be carried out over a lifetime, but some can. I personally know that doctors will suggest South Beach or Body for Life. Do not "cut out carbs" or "NEVER" do anything without consulting a doctor.

just stop eating junk food. start chewing on a carrot or celery (celery has negative calories. it has 0 cals. to begin with but you loose cals. when you chew)

see a nutritionist or just ur doctor ...those help most

Buy some snacks that you love that are healthy...
I go for junk food because I want something quick, try making some healthy sandwiches and leave then in your fridge so you can grab then when you want something to eat
Good luck :)

hey emma: The calories in celery are not burned by chewing, they are burned by digestion; your body cannot digest the plant substance that celery is made of. Chewing burns almost no calories.

Eating carbs only causes your body to crave more and more of it. Start your day with protein, no carbs at all, and continue this throughout the day. Include lots of vegetables, but no carbs. You've become addicted to carbs. It happens to many people. Here's more info:

When you feel like you are craving chocolate, your body is not really craving chocolate, but needs a sugar fix so instead of a big chocolate bar eat a banana for example.

Or if you are craving something like a donut, eat some potatoes, they will satisfy your craving for carbs.

Also drink a big glass of water when you think you are hungry, if in a few minutes you're still hungry then eat something, but chances are you're just thirsty.

Portion control. When you get home from the store, take the foods you would normally binge on and portion them out into separate plastic bags or containers, then put them back in the box they came in, or in a basket or bigger plastic bag to store in the cupboard or fridge.

When you go to eat it, it will already be portioned out. Take out one of the smaller bags, sit at the kitchen table to eat it. If you sit in front of the TV or computer, you where you will be distracted, and will mindlessly stuff the crap into your mouth without realizing how much you are eating, or that you are even enjoying it.

Once you've finished with your snack or treat, plan to have something else to do, like clean a toilet, respond to an email, pay some bills--anything to keep you from thinking about the other dozen or so bags of the same crap in the cupboard or fridge. After you have completed your post-snack chore, if you still want more, and you can't resist, repeat the process.

If you still end up eating the entire box of pre-portioned snacks, remember that this doesn't make you a failure. You have to forgive yourself and move on. I am a chronic binge eater, mainly due to stress, and I'm about 75 pounds overweight. I've probably lost and gained 300 pounds in my lifetime, and I know just about every dieting trick in the book. This is just one of them.
