Lean muscle vs fat loss?!

Question: I would like to loose 8-10 pounds over the course of 3 months. I walk a moderate 30 minute routine on the tread mill at 4.0 incline and 3.7 pace about 2-3 times per week. I'm not trying to gain muscle or a 6 pack or anything like that but how do I know that I am loosing fat and not lean muscle? What is lean muscle and under what circumstances would one loose that instead of fat?

If you dont eat enough and your body doesnt have enough fat stored to burn as energy it will burn muscle instead

Adding protein in the form or chicken or tuna to your diet will help ensure your muscles are maintaining themselves.

to keep your lean muscle and loose fat you will have to lift some weight. all you are doing is cardio, which is good to help with losing fat, but you also have to lift some weight, and eat protein ex chicken and turkey breast, eggs, salomn, tuna, nautral peanut butter, etc.
