How do antioxidants work?!

Question: I know that antioxidants are super good for your organs and skin, but what exactly do they do in your body? I drink a lot of juices w/antioxidants and a lot of fruits like berries and pomegranets. but i don't understand what they're doing inside of me. I feel that the market just kind of expects people to know. Can anyone help?

Hi,

Good question! Antioxidants basically help your body defend against free radicals. Here's an article that explains it in more detail. http://www.healthy-living-for-moms.com/a... .

Free radicals have their role to play in good health but too much of a good thing can be bad for you, just like anything else. :-) That's where a balance of antioxidants comes in handy.

Hope that helps,

  • They keep free radicals in your system IN CHECK! Free radicals basically go and destroy your vitals inside but antioxidants make sure they don't. Plain and simple.

They help "de-toxify" your body in numerous ways. Some can flush your system of unwanted and unhealthy things. Whether it's expelled in liquid form, or solid, they work to "grab" the bad stuff accumulating in your body and make it go away.
