Any tips on motivation??!


Question: for a teenage girl to get into better shape. I just bought a bikini, and thought, damn ill look great if i fit into that thing by summer. Haha. I want to lose about 20 lbs. I'm 16, 5'4, and 146. As you know, that is "at risk" of being overweight in medical terms. But in my realtiy, I see myself as fatt with no ph :)
So, any motivation, tips, guidance, im up for anything. It'll be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!! P.S- i also have juvenille diabetes, had it since i was 3. I didn't get it because I was overweight, it's genetic. Please know the difference of the 2 types of diabetes.

the best thing to do is keep that bikini where you can see it... to remind yourself that you want to look good in it this summer. if you are sitting around the house thinking to yourself " man Im sure bored"...go for a short walk. you dont have to do all of your exercise all at once... your body doesnt know the difference between 30 minutes straight or 10 minutes 3 times a day.
when you get out of bed in the morning, strap on your shoes and walk for 10 minutes... do another 10 after school, and 10 more after dinner. over time increase the lengths of your walks. soon you'll be walking 20 minutes at a time for a total of an hour a day! increasing your water and decreasing your calories boosts weight loss too.

instead of looking at your goal as 20lbs... give yourself a goal of 6lbs first... and once you reach 140 get yourself something small you've been wanting (like a new cd or dvd)
then give yourself small rewards for each 5lbs after that (new pair of shoes, purse, etc)
at the end...when youve reached your 20lbs go out and get your new clothes!

People who lose weight are often showered with compliments. It shows you accomplished something you put your mind to, as well as being healthier, and improving your appearence. Plus you will feel a ton better and have more energy. If that isn't motivation enough than I don't know what is.

Excercise without motivation.
I have to jog 1 hour a day.
I don't want to do it but I don't need people saying do it,I just do it.
