Question: and why are they good for you

Answers: and why are they good for you

No bananas are not fattening. They contain no fat, sodium or cholesterol. A medium size banana has approximately 110 calories and 4 grams of fibre. They are also easy to digest.

It is a known fact that they are low fat and may reduce the risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer.

They are also a good source of fibre, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. The potassium found in bananas helps to regulate blood pressure and may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke. Potassium is also essential for helping muscles to contract properly during exercise and reduces cramping up.

Because of their great taste, they can also serve as a substitute for sweets and satisfy sugar cravings.
