Is P90x right for me?!

Question: I'm not physically fit per say but I'm no where near just peeling my butt out of the sofa. I enjoy going to the gym but I only get there twice a week if I'm lucky. Is this right for me?

I do P90X, so I can only speak from my experiences with it only.

Let me forewarn, for the most part I have spent twenty years in the gym, and at least at a four to five day a week program, including bodybuilding and cardio. I was in pretty good shape when I started P90X.

And it broke me in half to start.

The creators of P90X basically state that you have to be at a certain fitness level to do the program...and I would be inclined to believe it. This is one of the few programs that does deliver what it states. Honestly I am surprised that the program is sliding under everyones radar...I expected that within a few years gyms would be emptying out and folks would begin excelling at home.

The focus of the program is not bodybuilding, but overall fitness. Even people who work out religiously have some kind of flaw in their program. Its just inevitable that you will fall into a rhythm or a groove. This doesnt allow for that. Its all of the fitness programs, rolled up into a schedule...not allowing you to adapt...and causing you to constantly feel like you are "off"...struggling to maintain. Even after you have done the program for awhile..its very difficult.

So although I dont say you have to be a cross country runner...I would say this. Get the program..allow yourself some leeway to be exhausted and dont push beyond your limits in the beginning...and then when you start to see some results...which believe me is pretty quickly...then try to push a little harder. But always be mindful of your limits.

Hi,

I have been getting informed on the best methods to lose weight and I found this guy's blog. He has a couple of links at the top with a few different nutrition programs and exercises.

One of the programs listed is called turbulence training. I have been doing it with great results. You should try it.

I've found a lot of valuable info there and the good thing is that this is someone's journal striving for fatloss.

check it out:

Good luck!

P90X is a great program that will really get you results! It is an advanced program so be prepared for that. Some people start with Power 90 or the Power90 Master series first and work up to P90X.

The Workouts are about an hour long and there are 12 of them. They alternate days of resistance training and cardio. Each resistance day includes the Ab workout as well. The workouts are broken out by body part (like Chest and Back, Shoulders,Biceps and triceps etc.)

You can select from 3 eating plans and 3 workout plans depending on your goals. As long as you will not get discouraged by not being able to do all the exercises or having to take breaks in the middle I say go for it! It is great to see the progress you will make in only a few sessions and then after a few weeks!

I am actually a team Beachbody coach so if you order from my website I am assigned as your coach by Beachbody and I can help you. Or if you already own the program you can still get me as a coach by clicking the Play the Game logo on my website. As long as you do not already have a Beachbody/Million dollar body account, I will be assigned as your coach!

I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
