the same thing that will work to help an overweight person lose weight will work to help an underweight person gain: staying healthy and getting proper nutrition is as important as taking in the right amount of calories.

i am assuming you don't want to look like a sumo wrestler, which would require a different course1

to be healthy, you should eat three to five meals a day, and start as early as possible, with breakfast being your biggest meal. make sure all five food groups are included, and when i say go heavy on the protein i do NOT mean protein shakes and protein mix, i mean eat lean meat, eat fish, eat chicken, eat eggs (not a dozen, but you know, a reasonable number), and drink full-fat milk. it's not that you're trying to increase your fat intake; there is no need to do that. it's that the less fat milk has, the more sugar it has. if you're working out, you need your blood sugar to be reeeeaaaal steady.

eat lots of fruits and veggies, eat bread but NOT WHITE BREAD. eat brown rice. eat it with beans if you like, or without otherwise. but beans are great, and there are so many kinds! i do NOT mean beans from a can; have you ever read the label on a can of beans? you do NOT want to try to gain weight by increasing your refined sugar intake. you want carbs that the foods produce, not carbs that are added in.

you can eat as much as you want of everything except white sugar and white flour. sure they'll make you gain weight but it won't be muscle and it'll play havoc with your blood sugar, increase your risk of high blood serum cholesterol and do absolutely NOTHING for you nutritionally.

oh yeah, and eat bananas lol!

good luck.

p.s. whoever said eat fast food and eat a lot of sugar: BAD ADVICE. i forgot to mention (because i thought it was obvious from the stuff i was recommending): don't eat anything that isn't actually FOOD. don't drink soda, don't eat fast food, don't eat stuff that's made out of chemicals, or even that has chemicals in it. i understand you're not trying to get fat and unhealthy. you're trying to put on some muscle and not look skinny. there's a DIFFERENCE, folks!

Milkshakes are good

Potatoes, milk, eggs, cottage cheese, meat, wheat bread, pasta, oatmeal, peanut butter

cream cheese, bagels, chocolate, fries, chicken, soups, soda, sweets, cheese burgers, bacon, sausage, eggs, bread. lol. i dunno i rather u be skinny.

Eat a lot of fats like sugar and fast food. Another thing is the reason why your not gaining much weight is because you are exercising which is burning off the food that you eat. So my best advise is to eat more and workout less!

when my son got very sick he lost alot of weight. the doctor told him to eat peanut butter. its a good fat. and eat alot of bananans. hope you loke these. and you gain your idea weight.

OLIVES are high in fat, so are NUTS-- but they are the good kind of fat.

Eat as much oily food as you can like butter stuff and eat sugary stuff watch TV for hours and you will gain weight ...oh.. yeah drink lots of full cream milk

um, well if you are young... then you probably wont be able to gain much weight since your growing anyway.

id eat a lot of potatos,a nd steak, and cabbage. those arent bad, and they'll definitley bulk you up...if you can get your hanbnds on some MRE's(those military food packs) id et those b/c during Katrina that's all my family ate, and the guys got really buff(from weight lifting and eating these all day) and the women got really thick.
