That's really hard to define exactly because everyone's metabolic rate is different...but as an average it's in the 20 to 30 calories per hour range...if you're really fit and your diet preps you to burn more when sleeping that number can hit in the 60 per hour range...by the way, the most active part of the body during sleep is...the brain....regardless of how much you might mover around during the night...

While asleep you bodies uses just enough calories to keep the essentials organs working, things like heart, lungs and brain. This is normally about 20% of your average active rate.

Most adults burn about 2500 Calories per day, that's about 100 per hour so while asleep expect to burn about 20 calories per hour.

9 hours at 20 Calories per hour = 180 Calories.
