Curls which is better?!

Question: Is it better to do curls with dumbbells or barbells?

Answers: Is it better to do curls with dumbbells or barbells?

Some differences:

Barbell: Probably the best all around for biceps, but limited more so to the biceps than the muscle underneath of it called the brachialis. The brachialis is the strongest flexor of the elbow, but does not get involved in rotating the forearm since it does not attach to the radius. Most people will curl the barbell with an underhand grip which isolates the biceps. If you use an overhand grip it works both to a degree.

Dumbbells: Better when starting, IMHO. If you are right handed you will favor the right biceps (there are two per arm) when using the barbell. The dumbbells make your weaker arm work for it. Also, instead of an underhand, or overhand grip, you can grip the dumbbells at a 90 degree angle (hammer curl). This will isolate the brachialis better and you will see better results overall in your arms.

I do barbell curls (underhand), and use dumbbells for hammer curls.

you can usually lift more with barbells because on dumbbells you have to use stabilizer muscles to keep it still. Both are effective though.

dumbells by far and precher curls also work a s well

it depends. do some of both. for biceps.. i recomend, standing barbell curls. and then with dumbbells: concentration curls. (sitting on bench resting elbow on knee and lifting).

dumbells and barbell have their other uses too, and are probablly equally as good for curling.

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product (all natural) which I think helps a lot in the process (it's really good for detox, you'll feel much healthier). I recommend you check this website
