About calories and weight loss?!

Question: Okay so I have 6 months until I ship out for boot camp, and I have started lifting/cardio. I really need to be educated on calorie intake. From what I understand you body needs a certain amount of calories every day? Does that mean I have to work out to lose those calories? Or just the unnecessary ones? Im not on any stupid miracle diets, nor any nutrisystem plans or the like. And no I havn't bought any stupid systems you see on TV at 3 AM with chuck norris.

Im going with plain old pushups, pullups, crunches and an outdated but still equally heavy Lou Feringo weight set from the 70's. Oh an a treadmill. Should I be doing something else besides this? I basically need to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. I am also taking half a serving of Muscle Milk after every workout. ANybody got any advice I can work on? (And please no miracle diets or anything!) Thank you.

losing weight and gaining muscle at the same time is impossible. Muscle is requires fat. in order to gain muscle, you need fat. In fact muscle is heavier than normal fat. The more muscle you gain=the more weight will go up.

What you need to do is work out (lifitng and light cardio) but keep eating normally or eat more than usual. The key is not to stop eating but to make sure the fat you eat turns into muscle. Keep up the workout and youll be fine.

Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me (it's all 100% natural - a colon cleanse that was really gentle on my body. I feel so good and I lost 15 pounds). You can check the website at
