I have lost 8 pounds so far but....?!

Question: i have been on a diet for 4 weeks and lost 8 Ibs so far. i weight 153, age 14, and 5'1-5'2. i have lost by changing my lifestyle (white bread to wheat, soda to water, and chips to wheat thins or a smoothie i made at home. for exercise i go outside and play with neighbors (run, play basketball, wrestle, for at LEAST and hour or more.) And i dont do that everyday and i still do eat what i want but obviously smaller amounts. and i have been bringing lunch to school (sandwhich wit wheat thins) or i will eat what school has but the healthiest thing they have. but i would like to get down to 130 at LEAST, it would be better if more. so at least 23 Ibs.my question is.....will i keep losing the weight if i continue doing this or will i eventually reach my platue and stop loosing? and please dont say that i need to go on a tredmill and walk everyday for 1 hr. i tried that and i get bored of the routine so thats why i thought i would make exercise fun it makes me want exercise. please help me.

Congratulations! You are going about things the right way in making lifestyle changes rather than fad dieting. You should continue to see weight loss, but you are almost certainly guaranteed to slow down or plateau at some point. Your body will adjust to these changes and you might need to shake things up. If/when this happens, reduce your calories a bit, but not drastic. Make sure you are still eating enough protien and not eating too much fat.

Exercise is a huge part of losing weight and keeping it off. But you have to do things that you enjoy. You are starting off great, any increase in activity is going to help. But I would add two things. If you can, get a couple of free weights and find some exercises online for building muscle. Usually you can start with say an 8 lb and 10 lb set, or if you are stronger, a 10 lb and 15 lb set. The wonderful thing about muscle is that even though it weighs more than fat, it takes up less space (so you look thinner) AND muscle actually burns fat even when you are sitting or sleeping. So you don't have to work as hard exercising. The other thing I would do is try to find new ways of getting in activity that you enjoy. Take your dog for walks or a jog, go swimming, ride bikes (especially hilly terrain), go hiking. All you really need to do is get your heart rate up and staying up for 30-60 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week. Here's a good site to help you find your targe heart rate: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/target-...

Congratulations on what you've already done so far and good luck on your journey!
