Staying motivated when losing weight?!


Question: I have done pilates and ran in the past and lost a bunch of weight, got lazy and put it back on. Now, I'm overweight again and although the weight I have to lose isn't unrealistic (20 pounds) I just can't seem to motivate myself to get up and do it. I remember how great it felt after I was done when I used to get up and go but, even that feeling won't make me do it. I do suffer from depression but seem to be allergic to every drug on the shelf for it. I can sleep all day even if I set an alarm to wake me up early so I will get up and go it's like I can't do it. I don't eat a bunch either but I've heard that birth control (been on for 8 years) will make you gain weight, is this true as well? If anyone can share some inspiring stories or how to get up and go in the morning please share. I know how it great it makes you feel but, for some reason that just doesn't work. I feel the same way about working out. I went strong at the beginning of March for three weeks, then I started slacking, and now I'm back where I started. I can't get motivated! I heard that having a workout buddy can help. If you want, you can e-mail me and we can e-mail back and forth about what we did that day for exercise, eating, and motivation! Let me know.

push yourself..you have almost answered your own question actually..birth control pills force your body to retain estrogen,thats why its easy to gain fat during birth control..

set small goals, and reward yourself for when you achieve them...like buy a new top or a new bag for every 5 pounds you lose.

Nothing tastes better than Thin. And instead of going to the gym, walk or run or bicycle by the ocean or whatever place inspires you with your friends, and shop for smaller clothes sizes with them as your reward. Long talks with your friends on long walks are healthy, too. Works the Heart in more ways than one.
