Drink Coke and then eat mentos....can this cause harm to your body?!

Question: I had watched a few videos on YouTube and I didnt get a real answer to this question. I know it doesnt feel good, but I was wondering if drinking a liter of diet coke and then eating a few mentos would actually cause harm to your body and what does it do. what i mean by that is that from the video i watched it looks like someone threw up but what really happens here.
so this is kind of a two point question. Any answers you can provide would be great, thanks!

by the way I am thinking of trying this so that is why I need SERIOUS answers.

Hey Josh,

Doing this can actually explode your stomach.

I work in the E.R. in a hospital and we've had a few cases of people doing this and it ripping apart their insides.

Please don't do this.

You wouldn't put water in your cars gas tank for a joke would you?

Then why joke around with the vehicle for YOUR LIFE aka your body.

Why would you want to do anything that could potentially harm you? That's just stupid.

The worst?

All the sugar will help rot your teeth.

It sounds like an old Urban Legend with new life.
