Skip the sit ups, do treadmill or walk 30 min a day. She doesn't need to lose 20. She can get fit and tone up and lose maybe 10 at the max and be just right.

Alot.

If your friend drops down to 136lbs she will be almost underweight. Because she is so tall, she is not overweight at all.

Why not run?Is she just trying to lose weight around the mid-section?

It is not just about sit-ups, the best way to lose weight is to eat small portions more times a day and do as much cardio as possible. Like running outside or a treadmill, or a elliptical trainer, or bike, swimming. And always mix it up so you do not get burned out doing the same thing over and over.

a lot.... personally i would do a variation of different excercises as well as changing diets maybe do some extra activities in order to lose some weight if your really interested in sheding some extra pounds

There's no exact number of sit-ups your friend has to do to be able to lose a certain number of pounds. Remember that spot-reduction is a myth. If your friend is really bent on losing weight, then I suggest to do overall cardiovascular exercise (do something that she likes like dancing, kick boxing, brisk-walking or jogging) then couple that with diet (less rice/pasta and more protein-filled foods such as meat and fish) and strength training (weight-lifting) and she's going to shed some pounds :)

Also, don't forget that your friend has to be patient aside from disciplined because losing more than 2lbs a week is enough or else she'll do have a yo-yo effect and the weight she sheds will just spring back as soon as she loses a bit of control.

Good Luck!

i think maybe she need to do some exercise just like jogging and she also need to eat in a balance diet..try to eat more vegetables and fruits everyday..and don't forget to do more sit up...or maybe she can see a doctor to get some tips about how to eat in a proper diet..there are some internet source that maybe can help her...
