Getting a membership to the YMCA tomorrow?!


Question: I want to start working out and using their gym. If I want to work on my legs, stomach, and hips, what kinds of stuff should I be doing there?

Since you are a new member, they should should you around the gym and give you a fitness evaluation. They should tell you which machines to work on and for how many reps.

well squats are good for your legs. sit ups good for your stomach. not sure what for you hips. they prolly have machines that will show what part of your body they work

They have personal trainers there that will be free your first day but a few exercises are:
leg extensions, leg press, line leg curls, standing calf machine for your legs, abduction, adduction machines for your hips, leg raises and crunches for your abs.
The YMCA should have all of these machines marked with these exercises. Good luck on your weight loss.

In my opinion, cardio. Everybody has a different body type and something else may work for you better than it does for somebody else
