How can you curb your appetite safely but effectively?!


Question: I love to eat, and a lot of the time, I go overboard without exactly realizing it. And when I do realize it, I don't care and I usually think, "Oh, this won't do anything."..

I'm trying to get into shape by adding lots of exercise and by eating healthier. What are some safe but effective ways I can curb my appetite so I don't go overboard when I'm hungry?

I do 3 things to help me curb my appetite. I chew sugar free gum right before or after a meal. When I cook dinner, I often get really hungry as I cook and am more prone to eat a lot. So I chew gum during this time. I also drink a big glass of water right before a meal if I am in danger of eating too much. I try and cook at least 2 non-starchy vegetables and fill up on those as I eat my steak or chicken. Of course you could do as Pamela Anderson does and just brush your teeth all day long. : )

Eat three meals and three snacks a day. Make sure your eating healthy and driving past the drive thru. For a snack, you could implement fruit, salad or if your out and about and unable to find something decent, a 100 calorie pack.

edit to add: Make sure you drink AT LEAST 8 full glasses of water a day. This does not include sodas or teas.
