I used to do that my team mates called it my back head spring cause my arms would collapse every time.

Strengthen your arms. Do pull ups and push ups and you can have someone hold your feet and try to handstand pushups since this is the postion you would land in.

Im guessing you are training at a gym somewhere. I really wouldnt recommend trying to learn alone. Ask if you can get private lessons. Even half an hour would help. This way your coach can tell you exactly whats wrong.

Also try roundoff backhandsprings they are easier since you have more power. Once you get that you can move back to the standing back handspring.

Good luck

Find a large space such as a living room or family room, then push all the furniture to the walls.{If possible,get a mat.}
Warm up by stretching and doing basic tumbling such as cartwheels and round-offs.
Jump for the ceiling. If you have ceilings around 8-9 feet tall, come to a sitting position, then swing your arms over your head while pushing with your feet. Try to touch the ceiling. If you do not have a low ceiling, instead of aiming for the ceiling just jump as high as you can.
Use a rocking chair. If you have a rocking chair, tip it on the ground so that the back of the chair lies against the ground. Sit so that you are actually sitting on the back of the chair with your knees over the end. While pushing with your legs, bring your arms over your head and try to tip the chair over. Keep doing this until you are strong enough to knock the chair back over and be virtually upside down!
Wear comfortable clothing while practicing.
Give yourself more room than you think you'll need. Breaking your leg by landing on the pool table is no fun and doesn't help with back handsprings.
If you live with your parents, ask before moving or using furniture for this. Your mom may not approve of her rocking chair being flipped around.
Always take it step by step dont go through the whole thing in one time.
