Are you eating lean protein aswell as ON products?

You are meant to take 45 grams of protein a day just for muscle repair and energy.

IF you want to drastically increase mass, you should be taking closer to 80 grams a day. I think you're instructed by ON to take 50 grams of their product every day which probably has between 30 and 38 grams of protein so that means you should be also eating a can of tuna or two chicken breasts as well to achieve your goals.

I think a can of tuna for example has 25 grams protein in it. thats like one normal size Protein shake and it costs a fraction of the price.

I dont like those protein products. The price is inflated and they often contain byproducts which are not well received by the digestive system.

It's best to get your protein naturally cos it's the easiest to digest.

As for exercise, muscle building can be a slow and frustrating process, everyone is different so dont be discouraged if your friend grows faster than you. It will come eventually.

TO THE POSTER ABOVE:

You do realise that a rapid and sudden increase like that in protein intake has been PROVEN to be an indepedent risk of heart disease, Irrepairable kidney failure and osteoporosis? Not my words the words of actual doctors.

Who are you gunna believe Asker, senseless bodybuilders who want to get big fast and will do anything to achieve or a doctor who has the best knowledge when it comes to a healthy lifestyle.

I'm just showing you how to do it safely... Might not be as fast as Mr know-it-all above me but at least you won't suffer major health problems from my advice.

Enjoy CHD from not eating enough fibre Phate :)

EDIT

Do you even know the function of fibre? If you eat that much protein or carbohydrate you have to increase your fibre intake accordingly. Simply calling me infantile names shows the senseless bodybuilder you are. You're probably in ur mid twenties right now. Lets see how ur bones feel when your 50 something maybe even younger, who knows.

Fibre is needed for reducing cholesterol levels and if you increase your protein intake you almost definitely increase the cholesterol levels in your system.

Phate, you're not gunna disprove me , my mum is an eating disorder therapist. If you wanna eat 180 grams protein per day and develop major health problems in 10-20 years be my guest. I'm just telling the Asker that your advice is dangerous and unhealthy.

Phate may i advise you to seek a professional dietitian instead of reading your bodybuilding magazines.

Asker if you want quick growth that wont last forever, be my guest , but theres major health risks involved in serious bodybuilding. These guys might look good in a photo or two but you think can keep up eating that much protein every day forever? Eventually these bodybuilders stop taking it so seriously and look horrible as a result. Bodies end up looking like 70 year olds when they are less than 50. Look at Arnie.

Do it safely and steadily and have longer lasting results. Simple as.

most of the proteins the bodybuilder eat/drink are used up in muscle repairing and growth. So its not harmful. But in order for the kindeys to extract such a lot of protein every single day is gonna give it a lot of pressure. And dont think they will handle it for very long. Report It

  • Deadlift heavy weights + eat in a surplus = forearms will grow.

your never gonna make progress doing pusssy forearm curls.

Dont listen to the guy below me. If you want to grow consume ATLEAST 1 gram of protein per bodyweight

if you weigh 150lbs, thats 150 grams of protein a day. which isn't hard.

    Edit

The poster below me is an idiot. Eating 1 gram of protein per body weight will not give you heart disease, and the fact that he assumes i don't get enough fiber because i eat a lot of protein proves he doesn't know ****.

    EDIT EDIT

Sorry dude. Your wrong, you can spit as much science as you want. There have been studies that show that dietary cholestrol DOES NOT affect your body's cholestrol levels, it's more of a genetic thing.

I don't think you've ever lifted a weight in your life if you SERIOUSLY believe that eating 80 grams of protein a day will allow your body to increase in lean body mass. Vegetarians freaking eat more than that.

And please, don't talk about my health. I eat a pound of red meat a day, 7-8 boiled eggs, plenty of tuna

according to doctors i should have been dead 10 years ago.
My good cholestrol is up. my bad cholestrol is down and my blood pressure is perfect. I am as healthy as a horse.

i weight train 4x a week, and run 15-20 miles a week. I know my body.

And by the way, when one raises protein intake their consumption of fiber intake will naturally increase

I'd also like you to post the link to evidence of your claim.

    a basic article on protein.

And by the way, Arnold is still in excellent shape for a person over 60 years old who's stopped training as much, and is busy as governor.

You must have seen the fake photoshopped pictures of him after surgery. Heres the real pictures:

By the way. Your mom doesn't know crap. no offense. But generally speaking doctors don't know **** about weight lifting or bodybuilding. Your mom is probably one of those doctors that think whey protein and creatine are steroids LOL.
    When it comes to muscle
    EXPERIENCE > SCIENCE. Always.
